My Progress: Video 7 + Update
It’s been years since I have had a wheatgrass shot. Early in the previous decade, The Wife and I actually grew some ourselves, purchased a grinder to make it, the whole works. It tastes pretty disgusting, but I always felt great afterwards. I thought it would be good to incorporate into my diet, so I went big and had three in a row. Naturally, I recorded it.

In other news, I finally registered for the race, very much under the wire with very few spots left. The registration required that I upload a photo, which I took to mean, they needed some picture just to identify who I am once I get there. This is what I went with:

In retrospect, they might have wanted a more formal passport-type headshot to put on a badge of some sort. I very much hope this doesn’t bite me in the rear later on. I suspect that it will be fine, considering the rules forms that they sent to me afterwards. These rules and forms include such gems as:
- “They now say that all natural water is a carrier of “plonking disneezes” (sic) Wash your ‘ands before eating or drinking. If you are given a “jelly baby” or other “suck” let the delicate gloved fingers slip it into ya mouth. No kissing on rout”
- “Ensure that you sign your tick box that gives us permission to take you out of the event to stick you in a warm blanket, pouring warm tea into your gaping mouth.”
Clearly, these are my people.
I am still very much working towards my fundraising goal, and will get more annoying about this as time goes on. If you have been following along up to this point, you know that I am doing portraits for anyone who contributes more than $35. Anything will really help though, and you guys would absolutely be my heroes at the end of the day with virtually any donation you make. The formal pitch I make for getting a portrait reads as it has in the past:
$35 will get you a head and shoulders portrait, $50 will get you a full body shot, or two head and shoulders pieces. All come with a simple background included.
Because I make these in vector format, they can be resized to any size you could possibly need. I recently sent one person a 22×33 inch piece they can now have printed as a poster.
I can also work in other styles, and have worked with people who have requests for things that fall outside the standard head and shoulders to find a price that is fair – If you have any questions at all about anything at all regarding my work and how I might help you, please feel free to drop me a line at drew.gilbert@gmail.com.
- 35$ or more gets you one head and shoulders portrait, with a simple background.

- 50$ or more gets you two head and shoulder portraits, OR one full body portrait, again, with a simple background.

This is how tough I need to be in 20 days:

OhGodohGodohGod, what have I done…
