No matter what happens, you're a braver man than I for even trying, and I'm sure it's an experience you won't forget :) Oh, and good luck! You shouldn't worry in the slightest that you'll look dorky — once you've been running for a couple of minutes through mud and water, you won't give a toss what you look like so long as you're warm ;) The temperature over here is actually rising a little at the moment, and over the next week, but yeah, it's still VERY cold, even for the time of year. Don't be too surprised if the ground underfoot is frozen. Yeah, I agree, this isn’t a bad outfit at all. The one thingI would add in is that depending on how cold it is going to be outside you may want to bring a "throw away" jacket or sweatshirt to wear before you actually start running. I had three layers on before the Disney World Marathon and Half Marathon last weekend, but because it was well below freezing, standing around beforehand was HORRIBLE. Having an extra layer that you don't care about (I always go to someplace like K-Mart and buy one for under $10) that you can then toss once it's about to start can be a big help. Depending on what time you have to be there, you might be standing around for an hour or more without generating heat due to running... You look pretty well prepared!
