About Me

Imagine, if you will, a foot race, with one of the most dangerous reputations in the world, respected by all who run it, as a testament to mental and physical toughness. I have known about this race for a few years now, and have always wanted to participate. My biggest problem before now has been, after nearly 12 years as a professional animator/graphic artist, a job that requires very little physical activity, I have turned into what could politely be described as an adult Charlie Brown.

That’s… actually still a problem. But I am not letting that stop me this year. With my first child on the way in the spring, I have decided I need to start setting a better example, start doing the things that I have always talked about doing, but haven’t gotten around to doing.

As a guy who is inclined to not finish what I start, I figured that the best way to guarantee I will finish is to make sure I do it in front of everyone, and more importantly, for something bigger than just me, to keep me accountable. I chose Free Arts NYC, a charity that helps fund Arts programs for schools in NYC, places which have had their arts programs cut back or removed due to budget restraints.

Have a look throughout the site, I hope to use this site along with Youtube to chronicle my attempt to get ready for the arduous work of Tough Guy UK, and I hope you will get a kick out of what I expect will be some real pain and suffering on my part. I really have no idea what I am in for…eep.

I am offering to do people’s portraits if a donation of over $35 is made. There will be other offerings for higher donations as well. I have a (probably lofty) goal of $3500 I would like to make, and I hope you might be able to help me reach it.

If you care to, please pass this site, or any of the videos I will be posting on Youtube on to your friends. I’m going to need all the support I can get!

No, seriously. Want to see how it’s coming? Here are the training vids so far:

As you can see, I have a long way to go, and could absolutely use your help. HAYALP!
